Baby Balaska arrives
Congratulations to Modified class racer Mike Balaska and his wife Amber on the birth of their son, Roman Michael, last night. He came into the world at 6lbs 7oz, 18.5", about 10 days or so early... the first Balaska red light of the season! Mom and baby are doing fine.

Letting fellow racers know.....That Dragbike rider Dan McCreary " TURBO DAN " of KRP / PRP Race Track is recovering from Quadruple Bypass Surgury on Tuesday. He is moving from Presbyterian to Gbg intermediate care center after making good progress.
He's being transferred this evening so it would be best to wait til tomorrow Tuesday to call or visit

Frank Fiume passes away
Frank Fiume, long time Mopar racer and enthusiast, engine builder and head machinist at Valley Auto, passed suddenly this past Saturday morning. The entire Pittsburgh Raceway Park community extends their deepest and most sincere condolences to Frank's family and friends.

Sarah and Chad Coughanour welcomed a new baby boy to the family late Saturday night with the birth of Chase Allen.

PRP Motorcycle racer Adam Smoker in fatal accident
The PRP management, staff, and racing community are shocked and saddend to learn that Adam Smoker, racer in the Motorcycle class, lost his life late Saturday night in an accident on Route 30. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Adam's family, friends, and fellow racers.

Passing of fellow KRP/PRP Racer
Regis D. Penrod
Fellow Keystone Raceway Park (KRP) / Pittsburgh Raceway Park (PRP) Dragbike Competitor, Regis Penrod 66 of Winber Pa, passed-on yesterday March 13 2013 while under Hospice care. Known by everyone in the bike pits at PRP, Reg conversed freely amongst the other riders on a weekly basis throughout his 1980-2010 Racing Career. Told by his wife, he loved family, motorcycles and drag racing. He will be remembered at the PRP track by everyone he touched in the last 30 years "Ride-On REG"

Dave Poorman with Daughter and Grand Daughter after heart surgery
Pittsburgh Raceway Park Modified/Top class driver David Poorman Jr. was admitted to the hospital Monday with chest pains, possibly a mild heart attack. He has undergone cardiac tests, and is currently resting. The tests have uncovered clogged arteries that will need to be corrected via heart bypass surgery. The operation will occur in the next few days. Piitsburgh Raceway Park management and staff asks that you keep David and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
